With the limited amount of commercial development in the area you will want to plan to get your groceries on the way to the house.  If you're already here you may be wondering what your options are.   

• Crawfordville (30 Minute Drive): The closest larger town with a Walmart, Publix and many other stores and restaurants is Crawfordville which is about 30 minutes away. 

• Panacea (15 Minute Drive): Most people don't know this, but if you're looking for a closer option the Dollar General in Panacea (yes you passed this on the way in too) is more than just your ordinary Dollar Store.  Really it is a mini Walmart Super Center.  They have food, including fresh produce and housewares and just about all you'd need for your trip if you didn't want to make the drive to Walmart. 

The Alligator Point and Bald Point areas are world renown for their fishing.  Travelers from all over the world flock here to fish the warm, shallow and calm waters teaming with schools of trout, red fish and many others.  For those looking for bait and other supplies we recommend checking out Crum's Mini Mall which is about 15 minutes away, in fact you passed it on the way in.  They have a little bit of everything here, clothing, tackle, hardware, limited food and more.

While the Alligator & Bald Point area is largely untouched by commercialization there are some great options nearby for dining.
